Welcome to BugID, the intelligent insect and arthropod identification application developed by Scale Dynamics Limited LLC. These Terms of Service ("Agreement") establish the legal framework governing your use of the BugID mobile application and associated services.
BugID is a comprehensive insect and arthropod identification platform that provides:
BugID is available for iOS devices through the Apple App Store. Certain features may require an active internet connection, and availability may vary by geographic region due to local regulations or technical limitations.
We regularly release updates to enhance functionality, security, and user experience. Users are encouraged to maintain the latest version for optimal performance and security.
BugID is designed for users aged 13 years and older. Users between 13-17 years must obtain parental or guardian consent before creating an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
BugID automatically creates a unique account for each user based on device information and identifiers. No manual registration or email verification is required for basic functionality. However, please note that account data is tied to your specific device, and switching to a new device will result in the creation of a separate account. Data synchronization across devices is only available for Premium subscribers who can link their accounts through our cloud backup service.
Users are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activities occurring under their account. Any suspicious activity must be reported immediately to our support team.
BugID offers multiple service levels:
Subscription fees are charged through the Apple App Store. All payments are processed according to the App Store's terms and conditions. Prices may be adjusted at our discretion, with changes taking effect for new subscriptions and renewals following the price modification.
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through your App Store account settings. Refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods except as required by applicable law.

Subject to compliance with this Agreement, we grant users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use BugID for personal purposes. This license does not permit resale, redistribution, or commercial use.
BugID may include content licensed from third parties. Such content is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws and may not be used outside the intended application context.
While we strive for continuous service availability, BugID may experience temporary interruptions due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the application.
Species identification results are provided for informational and educational purposes only. While our AI technology is highly advanced, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy in all identifications. Users should verify important identifications through additional sources.
Species information including venom classification, behavior descriptions, and habitat data is based on general entomological knowledge and may not account for regional variations, subspecies differences, or individual specimen characteristics. Users should exercise caution around any unfamiliar insects or arthropods.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scale Dynamics Limited LLC shall not be liable for:
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scale Dynamics Limited LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from their use of BugID, violation of this Agreement, or violation of any third-party rights.
We shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, network failures, or other unforeseeable events.
We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through in-app notifications or email. Continued use of BugID after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
Either party may terminate this Agreement:
Upon termination, users lose access to Premium features and their account data may be deleted after a reasonable retention period. Users are responsible for exporting any important data before termination.
This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy, constitutes the complete agreement between users and Scale Dynamics Limited LLC regarding the use of BugID.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Users may not assign or transfer their rights under this Agreement. We may assign our rights and obligations to affiliates or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Our failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
